feel it coming

Naturally 7 does what they do best on a Parisian subway. The unsuspecting passengers are at first pretenting not to notice, but are gradually drawn into that sweet R&B. Most wait for this kind of impromptu moment their whole lives. Oh Lord. They apparently just felt it coming. Check out Phil's lyrics if you want to sing along. Thanks to tiny gigantic for the link.

big time

The Normandy tidal island of Mont St. Michel is significant in both history and legend, which include angelic visitations, war, pilgrimage, incarceration, Kingly sojourns and fire. The mount's abbey has enormous architectural significance. In September of 2006 an impressive reimagining of Mont St. Michel by scientist and artist Laurent Maget took place, with the very able assistance of the French Army. Le Mont Solaire turned the abbey's spire into the gnomon of a sundial, by placing large reflective numerals on the surrounding sands. The shadow, which can reach three quarters of a mile, now tells time. Awesome!

Ten

I've admired Coudal Partners, a Chicago creative company, for several years. These folks really get it. Their site is one of the best I've seen and I'm a regular reader of their fresh signals. Scott Smith, a friend of the agency, put together this extraordinary little film called TEN wherein one man breaks all ten commandments before breakfast. Scott was one of three directing finalists in Project Greenlight 3. I think I've watched it fifty times and always end up laughing out loud. It's good stuff.
